Jobs, jobs, jobs…

Tonight I have an interview at a local church. I’m trying to get a part-time, evening and weekend job to supplement my income. I’m so nervous!

I’m definitely qualified for the job – they’re looking for someone to do evening and weekend clerical/receptionist type work. However, they got a slew of applications. And I always work myself up about these things. Sigh…

I also faxed off my application to Right to Life of Michigan today; they’re looking for an office manager for their Detroit office. I’m not particularly optimistic about that one; even if I am offered it, it may pay less than I currently make. While I want to sacrifice for the Lord, I also want to pay my mortgage. So I’m trying to reserve judgment on that and simply submit myself to the will of the Lord (which is good practice anyway). Even if I’m offered the job, and even if I can afford to take it, it will be a nightmare to explain to my militantly ‘pro-choice’ parents that I’m leaving a perfectly good (union) job at a perfectly respectable (public) university to take a job at (gasp) Right to Life. I haven’t even told them that I’m in RCIA yet. However, His will, not mine, be done. If that’s what He wants, that’s what I’ll do.

I also saw an administrative assistant job open at my university, for which I plan to apply. It’d be a nice raise, and a nice move, and…just utterly and uneventfully NICE. So again – His will be done. I’m not sure what to hope or pray for, so I’ll just pray for God’s will and the courage to carry it out. I would certainly appreciate anyone else’s prayers as well. :-)
