Tagged for a meme! Yay – my very first one!
Stephanie at La Vie Catholique tagged me for the Wikipedia birthday meme. Here goes:
Three Events:
1559 - Elizabeth I crowned queen of England. Good news for her; bad news for Catholics. St. Margaret Clitherow, for one, was martyred during Good Queen Bess’ reign.
1854 - The accordion is patented by Anthony Faas. Children who, like my father, were forced to learn the accordion from age six, curse Anthony Faas for generations to come.
1942 - Henry Ford patents a plastic automobile, which is 30% lighter than a regular car. Fifty years later, Geo says “What a great idea!” and launches a line of plastic cars that are powered by hamster wheels and rubber bands. Just kidding!
Two Birthdays:
1808 - Salmon P. Chase, 6th Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. (d. 1873)
1942 - Richard Moll, American actor.
One Death:
1691 – George Fox, English founder of the Quakers.
One Holiday/Observance:
New Year’s Eve in the Julian calendar.
Rules:1) Go to Wikipedia
2) In the search box, type your birth month and day but not the year.
3) List three events that happened on your birthday
4) List two important birthdays and one death
5) One holiday or observance (if any)
I would add that Orlando Bloom and I share the same birthday, right down to the year. I did not know that before today.
I tag…hmm…The Big Seester and Dr. Mabuse.
