Second interview tonight!
Yesterday afternoon I got an e-mail asking me to come in for a second interview for the church job. My options were: tonight, Saturday morning, or next Monday evening. Since I promised to attend a work function Saturday morning, and since I prefer not to miss class, tonight was the best possible option.
I feel weird even praying about it because, of course, Pope Benedict has gone on the long-anticipated and much-dreaded trip to Turkey, and it feels shallow and selfish to even be thinking of something I want. I wonder what the theology of something like this would be? I mean, God is omniscient and omnipotent. So He can handle anything and everything at once, right? It’s not a question of a zero-sum game in that respect. It’s just the willingness on my part to not ask for something I want? Does anyone understand what I’m getting at here? Can someone ’splain me this?
By the way, I finished another Agatha Christie last night – Lord Edgware Dies. Once again, she fooled me. Guess I’m not as S-M-R-T as some people I know…
