Deo gratias!

I’ve just finished drafting the text of my letter to my mother (re: converting). Once I draft my father’s (which will probably use much of the same language), the hard part is over.
The Canuck thinks that they’ll accept it without too much angst. I hope he’s right. I have been known to overblow things before. But at the very least, it could be a LOT worse. Sometimes we have to keep that in perspective.
Have a great day!
God bless you. I’m a convert myself and this can be quite difficult. My husband’s family is Lutheran, my own grandfather was a protestant minister. So you see, it was interesting. I converted 22 years ago, and actually rather quickly after I converted all was well. Honestly, they were just glad I was finally Christian, in the end analysis.
The family(s) had really known rather little about Catholics and when they found out I wasn’t going to dress all in black sackcloth 24/7 and do whatever they thought Catholics did (??), all was forgiven.
Good luck, I hope things go as smoothly as possible with them!
