Countercultural movements attract people who don’t like rules and structure. Unless, of course, they made up the rules and the structure. In that case, they really like them.
A few weeks ago, I met a woman whose husband goes every year to the Burning Man festival. I hadn’t realized that it had gotten so big - there’s even a “chapel/temple” built every year and some people have been married in it.
I think it’s hilarious that someone was so counter-countercultural. Except he burnt it to coincide with the lunar eclipse, which points to an obvious cultural indoctrination.
Kasia, is it time for me to step back onto my “so-countercultural-you’re-irrelevant’ soapbox?
