Uuuuuuuggghh…

I’m just going to say this to get it off of my chest:
WORKING TWO JOBS STINKS.
No, it does. I mean, I’m very grateful for both of them. I am! But I’m beginning to think that the only way one can work two jobs and have it work is for one to have a stay-at-home spouse who will handle the cooking, the cleaning, the laundry, the bill-paying, and otherwise make sure one is taken care of. Doing it all oneself is, to put it simply, nuts.
This has been a public service announcement for anyone who was thinking that getting a second job might be a good idea. Excuse me; I’m going to start snoring now. Even though I’m not asleep.
Lord, thank you for both of my jobs. You know I’m not usually this ungrateful. Please disregard this demonstration of relative ingratitude.
I’m torn between laughing at your “public service announcement” and giving you a cyber pat on the head.
Just remember that this, too, will pass.
I used to work a full-time and a part-time job while attending Wayne State for my teaching certificate. I survived. You will, too.
A couple of words of advice:
Pay your bills twice a month, when you get your biggest paycheck. That way, you won’t forget anything.
Do a little bit of laundry instead of big loads. I know this sounds counter-intuitive, but most of the stress of laundry is being out of clothes because you’ve been waiting for a full load.
Soak your dirty dishes overnight and clean them in the morning. If you really don’t have time, soak a couple days’ worth and do it when you get home from one of your jobs. (Unless you have cracked stoneware, in which case it will soak in and weaken the bond….)
By the way, you’re doing exactly what my mom (herself single a long time before meeting my Dad) told me to do: Go to bed! She told me that half of stress is caused by being tired.
So, g’night, Kasia. Hope you have a blessed Holy Thursday!
Amen!
Working full time and going to school three nights a week ain’t easy either
I try to do little things every day so that the dishes, etc don’t build up to a huge job.
Aw, c’mon, everyone needs a beeyotch session now and then! It helps us appreciate the GOOD times!
Hang in there Kasia…I hear ya. Work is a 4 letter word, I have been heard to say. I teach and practice law (only part time since the Bubbster came along last year), and while I like both, sometimes I just want to chuck it all and stay home. Financially and mentally, would not work for me and the fam. An underutilized brain makes a bored mommy, and a bored mommy is no fun.
I have often wondered what I’d really do if I won the lottery. Only so many spa days and beaches one can stomach with alacrity…:)
