Did they do it?!??!

I know Pelosi, Kerry et al. planned to receive the Eucharist at the Papal Mass. Does anyone know if they were denied or permitted?

Why would they do it anyway? I didn’t think anyone who wasn’t Catholic could.
Both John Kerry and Nancy Pelosi are Catholics. Or so they claim. I’ll leave it to God to judge their hearts, minds and actions.
And I’ll leave it up to the Bishops to decide if they should be denied Communion.
American Papist has a picture of Kerry receiving. http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/images/2008b/KerryPapalMass3 .gif
You know, I find myself praying for Pelosi. She’s in the same age bracket as my parents, and I’m all too aware that time is fleeting. I want her to go to Heaven.
Oddly, it’s a lot harder for me to pray for Kerry. That’s entirely my fault, though.
Apparently they did. What a way to make a statement.
I try to pray for all Catholic politicians who support non-Catholic agendas. Kerry, Pelosi, Granholm… Any time I read a blog, Catholic or otherwise, that goes on long rants about our pro-abortion ‘Catholic’ or ‘Christian’ politicians, over and over again, I say a prayer for those people instead. It’s not always easy
but I find it a much more worthwhile endeavor than complaining about the same thing and beating a dead horse.
Timmay and Jean – your points are all too well taken, and I think that you have chosen the better part. It’s even a little harder to move right into that from the easily-scandalized neophyte, though. (wry smile)
It’s not so much that I feel the need to declare that they SHOULD be denied Communion. It’s more that I was wondering, considering that Benedict has said that actively “pro-choice” politicians should be denied, whether he WOULD instruct the Eucharistic ministers to deny to particular persons. I rather thought he wouldn’t, though; since he’s not the ordinary of their see, I was guessing that he would take the position that it was their ordinary’s duty to instruct them and to make the decision whether to deny…
My main concern about it, honestly, is that it seems to reinforce to Kerry, Pelosi and others that it’s no big deal to be out of sync with the Church on these particular issues, when in fact it is supposed to be a big deal. But there I go again with the easily scandalized neophyte… :-p
Maybe they went to confession before Mass… you never know. Miracles do happen.
Very true, Cris; very true.
