I keep telling people about DJ and all the stuff he ate, but what I find pretty funny and ironic is that after eat tinfoil, a sanitary pad, a bag of weed and trash it was cat food that did him in. What a silly dog, he made the family like Kit a little more and I know you all were afraid of her for a while.

That's a great story. Make sure you never tell it before inviting your in-laws for dinner. :)

Well told, Clam. The only thing I would add is that I asked Mom what she really wanted for the Mother's Day Dinner from Hell. She said (wistfully) "Lamb chops. But they're really expensive, so you shouldn't get them."

I ignored her and ordered lamb chops anyway from a nice market near where I lived (because I wanted to make sure there were enough). She wasn't kidding about the expensive part. I about died when they rang me up.

Lamb chops were not made for the barbeque. I wouldn't say they were ruined, but they certainly weren't as good as their price would have indicated.

Also, Clam forgot to mention that while we were running around like lunatics trying to air out the house so the toxic plastic fumes didn't kill us (with the storm windows still up, mind you), we burned and ruined the delicate spring soup I had spent a couple of hours putting together.

All in all not my favorite holiday.

I took it all (fairly) in stride until I realized the soup got killed. Then I pretty much lost it.

Yeah. All because DJ couldn't be trusted to not try and eat a (clean) tuna fish can which was being recycled.
