Back (sort of)… :-)
clamrampant February 2nd, 2009
I had a great return post planned. Unfortunately, I got one of those stupid and entirely preventable burns in the kitchen this evening, so my left hand is slathered with aloe gel and wrapped in gauze. Which makes typing onerous.
So – I’ll be back as soon as the burn heals, which is probably tomorrow but perhaps the next day. ‘Til then!
The Canuck here: The Clam is mostly fine. We haven’t had to make a trip to the ER as it’s not a serious burn. Just one of those “OW!! Why in the world did I touch that?!?!?!” kind of things. The aloe gel and gauze are mostly us erring on the side of caution.
Now we’re off to watch Jeopardy and look at a chocolate cake cookbook we received as a wedding gift.
Awwww….my poor Clam-friend! I’m sorry to hear about your little accidental burn. I’ve done that too many times to count – so much that for awhile Rick really questioned whether or not I should be allowed near the stove!
Sounds like the Canuck-hubby has things under control though and we all know you are in good hands.
Hope you are feeling better and can post something clever and wordy soon!
Aww, thanks, Jill.
The hand is fine now. The aloe gel helped, and wrapping the gauze around it kept it on (as opposed to smearing all over the cats, the husband, the keyboard, my dinner…). The only thing was that I’d bound the three burnt fingers together to conserve gauze, so I was basically typing with one hand and one flipper. :-p
So I am probably going to have to prep for Catechism on my lunch, but hopefully can post tonight!
Welcome back, Mrs. Canuck!!!
(And there’d better be a picture or several…)
Nothing more cussworthy than that sort of a burn, and I do hope you’re all right.
KIT! I tried to leave a comment on your latest post, but apparently the work computer is no longer showing the word verification. I’m praying that my throat blessing from Sunday gets long-distance transferred to you!
There are pictures….we are debating whether to put them on blog (erasing any last vestige of anonymity) or e-mailing them (or links thereto) to those who wish to see them. But never fear – they will be shared!
Whatever. Anonymity is overrated. Better to have tons of witnesses to your true identity. I mean, look what happened to Sandra Bullock in “The Net”….
Heehee, besides, your pics are posted already on enough other people’s blogs that the one-click differential is hardly saving you anything….
Glad you are okay. Shouldn’t flipperize yourself with wounds like that. Should bind them up separately. Although, it sounds more like The Clam with a Claw….
Or at least a pincer.
